First Ever Cary Jaycees Amateur Photo Contest
The Cary Jaycees and Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival present the first ever Amateur Photo Contest [Brochure] for the community.  Everyone can participate, adults and youth.  If you love to take pictures and are not a professional paid photographer, this event is for you.  All entries will be displayed during Spring Daze on April 25 at Bond Park at the Boat House.  Community professionals will judge all entries and winners will be presented at 1:15 PM at the Earth Day Stage.  Join the fun!

Guidelines:
Only 2 entries per person Color or Black/White Film or Digital Categories People Critters of Nature Landscapes Town of Cary Adults – ages 16 & over Color – film or digital Black/White – film or digital Youth – ages 15 & under Color – film or digital Black/White – film or digital Prizes/Awards Best of Show - Camera classes - 6 class package from Wolf Camera, valued at $90 First Place - Four Adult 1st place: $50 gift cards - Peace Camera, Southeastern Camera and Studio, Frame Warehouse, and FrameMasters, Four Youth 1st place TBA Ribbons for 2nd and 3rd People's Choice (Vote on April 25 from 9AM-Noon at the Boat House)

RULES:
All entries must be original photos, taken by entrant. Photos must be 5x7 mounted on 8x10 white or black matte OR 8x10 mounted on 11x14 white or black matte. No frames. Maximum 2 entries per person. Entries must be received or postmarked by April 6, 2009. The Cary Jaycees, for publicity purposes, may reproduce photos. Photos will not be returned, but may be picked up at Town of Cary, Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources desk during April 27-29 office hours of 8AM-5PM. Self-adhesive hangers will be provided for all pictures. Each entry must have a completed application label securely affixed to the back. If not, it will be disqualified.
Judged entries will be displayed at Spring Daze on April 25, 2009 at The Boat House, from 9AM-5PM.  People's Choice voting will be held 9AM-Noon.  Prizes/awards will be announced from 1:15PM-1:30PM on the Earth Day Stage at Spring Daze.

The Cary Jaycees, event sponsors and volunteers are NOT responsible for any damaged, lost or stolen items.
The Cary Jaycees will determine the appropriateness of the photos and may use their discretion in determining if a photo may be displayed.
